MICHELE MESTIERI

HEAD OF GOALKEEPING

Michele has extensive experience in Goalkeeper Coaching which has developed between Italy and Australia.  He has adapted and mixed the two different coaching styles, creating challenging and fun sessions with the aim of preparing the future generation of PRO Goalkeepers.

Michele's qualifications are listed below:
- FFA GOALKEEPING A-DIPLOMA (Highest possible GK qualification)
- FFA - "B" LICENCE
- AIAP (Italian Association of Goalkeeper Coaches) - LEVEL MASTER (Highest possible GK qualification)
- Member of APPORT - Italian Goalkeeper Coaches Association
- BARCA Innovation HUB - Certificate in Neuroscience and Training 
- BARCA Innovation HUB - Certificate in Training for Team Sports

GIANLUCA PARLATO

EUROPEAN PROFESSIONAL GK COACH

Gianluca's has been a PRO GK Coach at Udinese for the last three years before joining 1951. Within the Udinese's time he was able to create three GK's that went to represent Italy national team at both U15's and U16's level.

 

Gianluca's qualifications are listed below:

- UEFA PRO GOALKEEPING Licence

- UEFA B Licence

- Malta Level 2 GK Licence

- Football Physicals Trainer License 

Member of APPORT - Italian Goalkeeper Coaches Association

Gianluca's passion for every aspects of the role is absolutely incredible and his knowledge is simply fantastic. His sessions are catered for the age group he his coaching but the coordination and details expectations are very high. That is what he is required if GK's want to reach the top Europeans level.

NICK HOOK

GOALKEEPER COACH - YOUTH GK's DEVELOPER

Nick is the latest FFA qualified GK Coach (Level 1) that has joined the 1951 GK COACHING team.

​

Nick really enjoys working with junior GKs, seeing them develop, building a professional relationship with them and instilling the passion that he has for GKs.

Nick's sessions are designed to be fun, whilst technical, with consideration for game management, building confidence and character in the goalkeepers he works with. 
 

He finds the improvement and progression of the GKs one of the most rewarding things about the role.

Nick currently plays for North Beach Soccer Club while he is the coach for Fremantle City State Team GK's and Women NPL GK's as well as NPL Juniors.

NICK STONE

GOALKEEPER COACH - GK TECHNIQUES SPECIALIST

Nick started his Goalkeeping career as a Youth PRO with Bournemouth. While playing for Bournemouth he was also coaching goalkeepers at the Bournemouth School of Excellence.

He then became a Senior PRO Goalkeeper in Hong Kong where he played for Kitchee SC.

He continued his PRO career at Po Chai Pills before returning to England to play with Bournemouth Poppies.   

His next move was to Australia where he played NPL for Inglewood and Armadale.

 

Nick is a fully qualified FFA/AFC Level 1 GK Coach and he has completed the C-Licence course.  He adds a wealth of technical knowledge and understanding of the role to the 1951 GK COACHING team.

​

Nick's passion for goalkeeping techniques is second to none and he will enable GKs to be ready to move into game related exercises feeling comfortable and confident.

RICCARDO MAZZOLENI 

GOALKEEPER COACH AND INTERNATIONAL CAMPS ORGANISER

Riccardo is the latest addition to the 1951 GK COACHING team.

He moved to Perth after leaving S.S Potenza Calcio in Serie C (third highest league in Italy) where he was playing as a PRO GK.

​

He played a tournament with Italy U17 national team in 2013/14 and brings to our sessions a real PRO attitude and attention to detail, second to none.

His comprehensive coordination exercises will help improve all the footwork and bodywork associated to the goalkeeping techniques.

​

Riccardo, is also a fully qualified FFA/AFC Level 1 GK Coach and he is now back playing PRO in Italy.

Being in Italy in now organizing the future international camps for our WA GK's.

FRANCESCO GERACE

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING SPECIALIST

Francesco knows that it is essential to have a plan for training in the gym to complement your on field training and that it also has to differ withing the different phases of the season:

 

Early Pre-Season

Emphasis is on building aerobic fitness, basic functional strength, and muscle growth, which is called “hypertrophy.”

 

Late Pre-Season

Emphasis is on building anaerobic fitness and maximum strength and power.  Players are working up to the start of the season.

 

In Season

Season is underway and players are expected to be ready or nearly ready for the full season ahead. Emphasis is the maintenance of speed, aerobic and anaerobic fitness, and strength and power.

 

Off-Season

Emphasis is on rest and recovery with the maintenance of light activity, light gym work.

 

We feel very lucky to have Francesco with us as he will help us to develop 1951 GK's in all aspects of modern goalkeeping.
